cuet: Tamil Nadu Meeting passes decision urging Centre to withdraw CUET

The Tamil Nadu Meeting on Monday adopted a decision urging the Centre to withdraw the proposal to conduct Widespread College Entrance Check (CUET) for admission to programs provided by central varsities. Chief Minister M Okay Stalin moved the decision, urging the Central authorities to withdraw the doorway check.

There is no such thing as a doubt that this CUET, like NEET will sideline the various faculty training system throughout the nation, grossly undermine the relevance of total development-oriented long-form studying in colleges and make college students depend on teaching centres for enhancing their entrance examination scores, it mentioned.

“The Meeting feels that any entrance examination that’s based mostly on the Nationwide Council of Instructional Analysis and Coaching (NCERT) syllabus won’t present an equal alternative to all college students who’ve studied in assorted state board syllabi throughout the nation,” it mentioned.

Opposing the decision, BJP staged a walkout whereas the others together with essential opposition celebration, the AIADMK and ruling DMK’s allies–Congress and the Left events amongst others, supported the decision.

Speaker M Appavu mentioned the decision has been adopted unanimously.
